BE FLEXIBLE!!!
- Be flexible with your travel dates , times and destinations
Airline ticket prices depend a lot on the day of the week, time of year, and upcoming holidays, such as New Year’s Eve, Passover, Labour Day or the Fourth of July.
Your ticket is going to cost much more If you are going to fly when everyone is flying or during the holidays. Try to be flexible with your dates and fly off- season.
Destination – Today, most airline search engines make it easy to search the entire world to find the cheapest ticket — you no longer have to search manually. It’s either called fare finder/ “go anywhere” / explore .
I usually try first by clicking on Google Flights and clicking the map to search for a destination. Then, I put in my dates and home airport and start packing 🙂
2. Don’t be afraid to fly with LOW COST airlines – just don’t forget to make sure you added all the extras you need. Carriers earn lots of money and just “love” to give penalties in case you forgot to pay for a suitcase , forgot to print your boarding pass etc. Be sure to add up the cost of the ticket AND the extra fees to make sure that the price is lower than a larger carrier. In addition, issuing a yearly membership at one of the airlines, usually lowers your price per ticket.
3. Don’t always fly direct – we flew a few times to our final destination via another destination and reduced the tickets. Another way to fly cheaper is to book different airlines onward and back.
